Ushicon 2!! That's right,
Mangler was there in full force. Someone
called for security... I heeded the call. What follows is a record of
one mangler's experiences at the second Ushicon and the characters...
*ahem*.... encountered. Read on faithful readers... read on....
You'll notice my family prepared for battle.
MiniMangler was ready to get some soul devouring experience like his
old man.

Any report would be
incomplete without addressing the dealers' room. This was only half of
the chaos. I had to hold the Saturday mob back while three of the vendors
were late to set up. Not that this feat was difficult by any means. I
was unfortunately disappointed that no one tried to slip past me. I kept
asking someone to try... but they seemed weary to become fodder for my
mangling practice. *sigh*

Our first cosplayer payed
a quite mentionable homage to Sakura from Card Captors. Kero and I got
into an ego contest and... well... do you see Kero-chan?... yeah, that's
why.

Hmmmm... I think I'll have to finally beat
Kingdom Hearts to find out who this character is... either that or one
of you faithful readers could just tell
me... the latter is preferred.
UPDATE:
Aoshi Shinamori wrote in and informed me that
I DO need to beat the game to see this character... a prelude to a KH
sequel! OOOoooh, I can't wait to see for myself!

Tifa got tired of waiting for
Cloud to come around and decided to prowl Ushicon2.

Ya know, Triggun is another
anime I really need to get around to seeing when fatherhood permits. I
saw about 5 or 6 Triggun character running around that weekend and these
were the best of the bunch. Thumbs up, fellas!

Sumomo and Inuyasha... correct me if I'm wrong,
but either Sumomo got an upgrade, or Inuyasha shrank!
UPDATE:
Akasha Mantacor wrote in to correct me...
apparently Inuyasha is one of her favorites and the fact that I haven't
seen the series caused her great distress....

Dagger decided to venture out
of her kingdom long enough to get some shopping done in the dealers' room.
Why not? She's got the money, neh?

I could be wrong... not that anyone
dare say that to my face... but I believe we have some Ah!My Goddess
characters here. Due to uncontrollable cerebral flatulence I need further
input.

I'm informed by kiala42 (one of my readers)
that these lovely ladies are ACTUALLY Miaka and Yui from Fushigi Yuugi.

A great Ah! My Goddess duo. I see there is
a sneaker trend rolling about where Goddesses tread. *shrug* I guess
ya need to be a goddess to get that memo.

MAGIC USERS CLUB!! I never
answered the application the club sent me. I figured, "Who needs
to learn magic when they're the Mangler?" That and I was too massive
for any brooms they had.

Another zombie warlock made
his way into the dealers room. I thought of quick Mangled Stomp to erradicate
him, but I thought it'd be more fun to watch him gather more minions out
of the fanboy selections provided. Many a laugh had at geek expence when
the pale sorcer harvested their souls, I tell ya!

Ukyo and Ryoga found their
way into Ushicon2 for some shopping... but failed to bring me any okonomiyaki.
Yes, I was crushed. Yes, I was hungry. Yes, they were inevitably mangled.

Wow! Everyone and their mommas have been emailing
me about THIS one! Thanks for the overwhelming response, folks! I stand
respectably corrected- to the left you see Sora and to the right is
Eriya... both from the Escaflowne movie- I still need to see that one.

huge sword. WD-40 and he was eatin' outta my hand. Mangler strikes again!!!

No Face from Sen to Chihiro
no Kamikakushi... if you saw it in the theaters you would have probably
called it "Spirited Away" Either way, a great film and further
proof that Ghibli Studios fails to disappoint. Yatta!

Once again, Paper Wings pulls no punches in
these fantastic renditions of Bloodberry and Lime from Saber Marionette
J! Awesome job! Demo... I thought Bloodberry was taller than Lime...

Ushiko herself?! Well, it wouldn't be Ushicon, I'll tell ya THAT much!

And, of course, after digesting the essences
of his fallen victims, the little tyke had to sleep it off. Sleep tight,

Then there was Cosplay on Saturday night.
Awesome music was provided by a group sporting FLCL costumes... AND
they played the FLCL opening theme. WOO HOO!! Go Gainax!! Love that
studio.
